Cary – As reform reshapes American healthcare, hospitals are snapping up physician practices at a rapid rate, with some analysts predicting that only one-third of physicians will own their own practices by 2013. While there is debate whether Accountable Care Organizations and other government-mandated measures will control costs, independent physicians and groups face a collapsing reimbursement structure that threatens the viability of their practices.

Physician Care Direct (PCD) recently unveiled an innovative program that changes the way patients pay for primary care, while also ensuring primary care providers (PCPs) a steady stream of income minus high administrative costs.
